Experience Chicago’s Black History & Culture!

Bronzeville is historically known as the “Black Metropolis” rich in African American business and culture. Meet your local tour guide for a half day walking tour and learn how The African American population in Chicago has made a significant contribution to the US history and culture. A Black man from Haiti who moved to the city as a permanent resident is today recognized with a downtown bridge Dusable and a renowned cultural institution. From the Great Migration until President Obama’s victory address at Grant Park, African Americans would continue to influence Chicago and the country.

In areas all around the city, there are now vibrant African American communities in Chicago. Black ancestry is prominently displayed in Bronzeville and Hyde Park, from family-run eateries to colorful works of art. Through Black-owned businesses and cultural organizations honoring Black heritage. During this activity, you will walk along the Bronzeville Hall of Fame, take a few selfies as you pose in front of the many beautiful murals and landmarks, and to stop for some soul food and a sweet treat along your route (Not Included).
